Installation Guide
Everything you need to mount your SkyGii rooftop tent and get on the road — step by step, with the tools list and safety checks. Most installations take under 30 minutes with two people.
Before You Start: Roof Racks Required
Your SkyGii rooftop tent mounts onto cross bars (cross racks) on your vehicle's roof. Before installation, please confirm one of the following:
-
Your vehicle has cross racks — make sure they meet these requirements:
- Load capacity of at least 200 kg (440 lbs) per pair — the tent plus everyone inside.
- Fitted with an anti-detachment (anti-fall-off) device.
- Your vehicle has no cross bars — contact our support team to choose a compatible set of optional racks (see below).
Optional roof racks — contact our support team if your vehicle needs a set.

Step-by-Step Installation
Prepare the bolts
Take the bolts out of the mount bag and remove the nuts from the bolts.
Slide the bolts into the tent base rails
Slide the bolts into the mounting rails on the bottom of the tent — 8 bolts in total.
Load the tent onto your cross racks
Lift the tent onto the cross racks on your vehicle's roof. Position it so that:
- Each pair of bolts straddles a cross bar.
- The narrow (slim) end of the tent faces the front of the vehicle.
Fasten the tent to the racks
Add the splints onto the bolts, then slide the round caps onto the bolts:
- Fasten the pentagon screw using the pentagon side of the anti-theft wrench.
- Fasten the hexagonal screw using the hexagonal side of the anti-theft wrench.
Tightening sequence: splint → cap → pentagon screw → hexagonal screw
Final safety check
Re-check every installation bolt and nut once the tent is mounted.
